Explorers Soft Play

A lovely little soft play area. It’s small but still really fun and kept the kids busy for an hour or two. The café is also really nice, with a good atmosphere and a nice place to relax while the kids play. Overall, a great little spot for a fun few hours!

If you plan to take little ones under 1, I would not recommend it. I don’t understand why they sell tickets for babies if this is clearly not suitable for them. I took my confident crawler and found there is no dedicated baby area and everything is set up for older children. But the most disturbing was the noise level. There were ONLY 4 children apart from us, but they were screaming so loud that my baby was very scared and cried, (I could barely handle the noise myself) so we didn’t get to make any use of it. Clearly the mums there did not care about my baby’s discomfort even though they were aware that my baby is scared of their children screaming. On the one hand I understand that this is a place for children to release all their energy, but it’s a shame that that many parents aren’t open to finding a middle ground in the noise level so that all ages can enjoy this space. It would teach their older children respect towards everyone too. The same mums also gave their children food in the soft play area even though it is forbidden and they told the children to hide with it so that the staff don’t see it through the doors. I will not be taking my baby here and don’t recommend it for this age group.

Worst soft play I have been to in 4 years. Filled with babies and parents, to the point my 2 and 4 year old were unable to play and our table was sat at as we played. Spoke to manager, did nothing except say ‘they were in the normal safety limits of people’. Wrote an email to her manager and got no response. Won’t be back.
