Hocus Pocus Soft Play and Party Venue

We visited Hocus Pocus in Beeston this Saturday for a private children’s birthday party and unfortunately had a very upsetting experience. While playing in the soft play area, my daughter was suddenly struck quite forcefully in the throat by another child. She was on her own and was left in tears; one of her friends eventually helped her down to find me. The lack of any obvious staff support afterwards was quite shocking: no readily identifiable member of staff to approach, no clear indication of who was responsible for first aid, and no obvious way of finding the other child’s parent to establish what had happened. Fortunately, my child did not require medical attention, but the impact had been quite forceful and she continued talking about it throughout the evening. It made me think about what would have happened had the injury been more serious and we had needed immediate assistance. I was also surprised that it was not obvious where the fire exits were or what the emergency procedure was.
